And just like that, 2023 season hss come to a close. And what a year it has been.
It has been a year of progression for a number of our junior and beginner/primary dancers moving up through the ranks, and attaining personal best results. Special mentions must go to Jachin who graded all of his soft-shoe from Beginner to Elementary in 4 months, Max who graded all of his dances from Beginner to Intermediate and won no less than 30 sections this year, and Onnee who won her 2nd straight Regional Oireachtas Championship, Danced at her first Australian Championship placing 21st and competed at her first International competition (British Nationals) and placed 28th.
Amongst our senior dancers a special should-out must go to Alexandra who managed to juggle Year 12 studies with a full year of competing and still produced some stella results such as runner-up Regional Oireachtas Champion and 15th at the Australian championships whilst achieving a very high entrance score. Alex is now well into her training for the 2024 World Championships.
The Roberts Feis and the Southern Stars Championship were both huge successes again run faultlessly by our little school, we definitely punched above our weight to put on two such events. The end of the year also saw us welcome a number of new families to the school, we look forward to sharing the amazing journey Irish Dancing promises to be with them.
We wish all of our families a happy Christmas and Holiday season and a safe New Year, also wish the very best to Jess and Andrew on the pending arrival of their baby girls in early January.
Looking forward to a fantastic 2024.
